Mountain Tour by Kim Asendorf
Digital art, in particular, is becoming increasingly popular as artists and photographers constantly find new ways to manipulate their art. This ‘Mountain Tour’ series by Kim Asendorf is the perfect example of what software can do nowadays. By pixel sorting these images, Asendorf has managed to capture a ‘between’ stage where there is enough detail to retain the original mountain landscape and yet still be digitally captivating in a way which makes the viewer question its legitimacy.
Such a technique, I find, gives the landscape a rather strange sense. The mountains seem torn and disconnected from themselves, certainly making them very visually interesting.
Be sure to see the rest of the Mountain Tour series here and if you liked these, I strongly recommend his pixel sorted aerial images which you can see here.
